Cricket

 

  • Cricket is a team sport and a bat-and-ball game. There two, teams of eleven players. The field is in the shape of oval, in the centre there is an area of 20 meters long. At each end of this area, there is a wicket. 

                                  

 

  • A match is played in two innings. During an inning, the designated batsman is the only one of his team on the field. The field is surrounded by the players of the opposing team. They must try to catch the ball the batsman has hit. The most famous stadium in the world is the Melbourne Cricket Ground. It has a capacity of 100 108 persons. 

 

  • Cricket is mostly played in England, New-Zealand, Australia, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.  The winner of the cricket World cup of 2020 is the Bangladesh U-19.

 Role: 

  •  The Batsmen, shoot the ball with a bat to win point, the runs.  

       -       The bowler throws the ball to the batsman. 

       -        If the hunter catches the ball, he wins point, it is very difficult.  

       -       the wicket-keeper catches the ball after the throw of the bowler.  

  • All players can be batsman during the game. In one team there are 11 batsmen if ten of there are eliminated, the team lose the innings. 

Some players: 

  • Vivian Richards is an Antiguan cricket player. He was part of the West Indies Cricket team as captain. He is one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the Century and he won 2 world cups with his team. 

  • Sachin Tendulkar is an Indian Cricket player. He is one of the best batsmen of cricket’s history. He also bet some world records and won the 2011 cricket world cup with the Indian team. 

  • Rahul Dravid is a former Indian cricketer and captain of the Indian national team. He was named one of the best five cricketers of the year by Wisden Cricketers' Almanack in 2000 and received the Player of the Year and the Test Player of the Year awards at the inaugural ICC awards ceremony in 2004.
